Ologbon Community Bank Nigeria Limited was organised by Akata Community Development of Ogbomoso in July 1993 and was initially registered under the name Akata Community Bank Nigeria Limited. The name was, however changed to Ologbon Community Bank Nigeria Limited on 5th March 1994.This was formerly registered under the Companies and Allied Matters Act,1990 on 29th July 1994 with Certificate of Registration No RC 260428. The Bank commenced Banking operation on the 16th of July 1994 under the then National Board for Community Banks (NBCB) and later received its Banking license from the Central Bank of Nigeria on the 24th of January 2002, with certificate number 000238.

The Authorized Share Capital of the Bank at inception was N250,000.00 which was later increased to N10,000,000 in August 2004 The current position of the Bank’s shareholders fund as in the audited accounts submitted to the Central Bank of Nigeria is N19,109,000. However during the six months period from 1st of January to 30th of June 2006 the Bank was able to raise the Shareholders Fund to 23 178 269 which is an indication that the bank was able to inject additional N1,682,032 share capital and N2,387,227 in form of profit transferred to reserve. This thereby surpassing the minimum capital of N20, 000,000 required by the Central Bank of Nigeria for the transformation of the bank to a microfinance bank

Ologbon Community Bank Nigeria Limited plans to transform to Ologbon Micro Finance Bank Nigeria Limited after obtaining the necessary approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria. The Bank is planning to move into higher level to achieve a rapid growth and profitability. This plan is therefore made to outline how the resources of the Bank would be utilized to achieve the said goals and objectives of the Bank in the Micro Finance era .It is the plan of the Board of Directors/Shareholders of the Bank to increase the Authorized Share Capital of the Bank from the current N10, 000, 000 NGN to N30 000, 000 NGN.
